Origin of last name Bachand

I searched and found that Bachand was originally BUCHAN from north of Aberdeen, Scotland. He fought the English and King William in the early 15th. century. He was captured and exiled to France, there his name was pronounced Buchand/ or Bachand. He stayed there and there is no record of him going back to Scotland. There ic a Township just outside of Aberdeen Called Buchan.
