Simon Pleau-Lafleur was born around 1641 in Châtillon-sur-Loire, Loiret in France. Son of Etienne and Martine Audibert, he married Marie-Jeanne Constantineau, daughter of Julien and Marie Langlois, on November 28, 1680 in Neuville. From this union are born 12 children. This soldier from the Allier regiment, Carrignan-Salières, Berthier's company, settled first in Quebec City and then in Neuville. In 1681, he owns 2 cows and 10 acres of land in value. In 1702 he sold his land and retired to his son's home in Cap Santé. He died in October 1711 at Cap Santé where he was buried.

PLEAU-LAFLEUR – Pleau is probably an alteration of Peleau, which is a derivative of the old French language “pete”, which means bald. Lafleur is a nickname given to soldiers.
