Pioneers of the David family

Claude David was born in France, around 1621. Of unknown parentage, he marries Suzanne Doyon,, daughter of Jean Doyon and Jeanne Francfort, from Saint-Pierre-du-Châtel in France, around 1649. Six children were born from this union. He comes to the country about 1646 and settles down in Trois-Rivières, where the Compagnie de la Nouvelle-France granted him land. He performs several transactions of purchase, sale and exchange of land before settling in Champlain in 1667. At the 1681 census, he owns 1 gun, 3 heads of cattle and 20 acres in value. He dies in November 1687 in Cap-de-La-Madeleine.
