Obituary of Yolande-Rita Allain

NEW BEDFORD -- Yolande Rita (Allain) Moreau, 80, of New Bedford died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of Laurent E. "Larry" Moreau; they were married 62 years. A lifelong resident of New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Calixte and Yvonne (Allain) Allain. Mrs. Moreau attended St. John Neumann Church in East Freetown. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cross-stitching, crafts and word puzzles. Her whole life was dedicated to her family and grandchildren. Survivors include her widower; four daughters, Y. Carol McKay, Paulette Ponte and Janice LeBlanc, all of New Bedford, and Suzanne Church and her husband, Ed, of Dartmouth; two sons, Laurent A. Moreau and his wife, Susan, of Acushnet, and Ronald H. Moreau and his wife, Yvette, of Wareham; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Yvette Renaud and Herve J. Allain. In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated. Her funeral Mass with cremated remains present will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Neumann Church, East Freetown. Burial of cremains will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd.
