Obituary of William E. Noonan


William E. Bill Noonan, 69, a longtime resident of Chelmsford passed away Wednesday, March 28th at his home in the company of his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Gail M. (Herbst) Noonan to whom he has been married for 51 years. He was born in Whitehall, New York on October 2, 1942 and was a son of the late Henry E. and Ruth H. (Pierson) Noonan. He received his education in Whitehall schools and was a graduate of Whitehalls High School. He went on to study at Adirondack Community college in Glens Falls, NY and earned his BS in Business Administration from Siena College in Loudonville, NY. Bill was employed for many years by CR Bard USCI Development in Glens Falls, NY and then Billerica. He then went on to work as Controller by Waste Management of NH in Manchester. He enjoyed golfing, was an avid reader, and loved being outdoors and taking long walks. Most of all he treasured spending time with his loving grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by four daughters, Corine Redwood and her partner Stephen Marranzini of Groton, Janet Wilson and her husband Scott of Stow, Mary Kay Emero and her husband Brian of Chelmsford, and Erin Noonan of Nashua; eleven grandchildren, Katelyn Dunlay and her husband Chris, Sean and Meghan Redwood, Christopher, Zachary, and Alexandra Wilson, Reece, Erika, and Mason Emero, and Lauren and Kennedy Rebello; two sisters, Joan Scott of Glens Falls, NY, Anne Grube and her husband Paul of Queensbury, NY; a sister-in-law, Pamela Noonan of Queensbury, NY; a brother-in-law, Donald Herbst of Whitehall, NY; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Richard Noonan and the brother-in-law of the late Tony Scott and Sandra Herbst. Visitation was held Friday, March 30 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, March 31, at 9 oclock at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. Interment was private.
