William J. Wallace -->William J. "Bill" Wallace, 76, of Rockland died Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Weymouth Health Care. The son of the late William A. Wallace and Elsie (Buckley), he was born in Boston, Sept. 6, 1935. He was raised and educated in Boston. Bill served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a self-employed wood carver. He and his wife had owned and operated Wallace and Wallace Wood Carvers in Rockland Center. And later he was known as the Sign Guy making hand carved wood signs. Bill was a lifetime member of the Rockland Lions Club. Husband of the late Patricia A. "Pat" (Cardile) Wallace, he is survived by two sons, Christopher M. Wallace of Los Angeles and Kevin P. Wallace and his husband Steve Shannon of Brockton; two daughters, Denise M. Wallace and her fiance Marshal T. Spriggs of Roslindale and Cheryl-Ann Ring and her husband John of Coventry, R.I. Also survived by one granddaughter, Jessilyn Ring. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 45 East Water St., in Rockland, Thursday from 4-8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 9 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 403 Union St., in Rockland. Interment will be private. Donations in Bill's memory may be made to the Rockland Lions Club, P.O. Box 485, Rockland, MA 02370.
