Walter O. Regan passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 10, 2010. Born in Boston, he grew up in Mattapan and had resided in Brockton for the past 20 years. A Korean War Air Force veteran, Mr. Regan was a retired technician of New England Tel. & Tel., Boston, a member of IBEW and the Telephone Pioneers of America, a former employee of Simco by the Bridge, Mattapan, fished and moored his boat at Landfall Marina, Hingham, was a passionate reader and enjoyed harness racing. The beloved husband of the late Irene C. (Quinn), he is survived by his devoted children, Lawrence J. of Scituate, Brian P. of California, Barbara A. Sullivan of Texas, Patricia A. Regan of Brockton and Christine M. Smythe of Kingston; his brother, Joseph Putch Regan of Florida; 10 loving grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; his nephew, Mark Lacey of Scituate; and many other loving nieces and nephews; and his Irish Setters. He was the father of the late Robin Quinn and brother of the late Barbara Bobby Lacey. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Angela Church, Mattapan, Thursday at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Wednesday 4 to 8 p.m. Interment Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, Thursday at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th floor, Brookline, 02445. www.alfreddthomas.com.
