LEWISTON - Simeon J. "Jack" Raymond, 85, of Hogan Road, died Monday evening, July 11, at Ste. Marguerite d'Youville Pavilion.He was born in Lewiston, Dec. 31, 1919, the son of George and Marie Kavanaugh Raymond. His mother died when he was only 4 years old and he was raised by an older sister, Anna. He was educated in local schools and served in the U.S. Army 362nd Infantry Division during World War II.He was married Feb. 1, 1941, to Jeannette Jolicoeur.He was employed many years as an auto body repair man and retired several years ago from Diamond Machine Co.He was a member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. As a handyman, he enjoyed tinkering around the house. He referred to the home on Hogan Road that he built as "the house that Jack built."He is survived by his wife, Jeannette, of Lewiston; a daughter, Nancy Lamare and her husband, Marc, of Falmouth; three sons, Robert "Bob" Raymond and his wife, Patricia, of Sabattus, Leo Raymond and his wife, Sheila, of Concord, N.H., and Gerry Raymond and his wife, Carrigan, of Allen, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.He was predeceased by a grandson, Jeremy Raymond; sisters, Anna Vermette, Ida Asselin, Cora Sennett and Lil Sennett; and brothers, George Jr., Bill, Philip, Maurice, Charles, Louis and Fred.
