Obituary of Robert Allain

Robert AllainDEVOTED HUSBAND AND FATHER FITCHBURG -- Robert Allain, 85, of Fitchburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27, after a brief illness.He was born in Amesbury, MA on July 7, 1928 and moved to Canada to live for several years before returning to Leominster. He was the son of the late Honore and Alina (Gaudet) Allain. He was formerly employed at Fitchburg Ford as Manager of the Automotive Parts Dept. for many years. He was an avid stamp and coin collector; he enjoyed skiing, deep sea fishing, gardening, and photography.Robert was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and its Saint Vincent de Paul Society. He volunteered in many aspects of parish life. He was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed by family and friends, but his spirit will always remain with his loved ones.He is survived by his wife, Theresa Allain, celebrating 66 years of marriage in January; ten children, Judith A. Migliozzi and her husband Dr. Paul A. Migliozzi, Jr. of Fitchburg, Michael Allain of Prince Frederick, MD, Lorraine Rines and her husband James Rines of Ashburnham, Ronald Allain of Westminster, Christine Borden and her husband Michael of Greenfield, NH, Francis Allain and his wife Rita of Hubbardston, Louise Allain of Grafton, Susan Turner and her husband Greg of Derry, NH, James Allain and his wife Kristen of Jefferson, Peter Allain and his wife Lisa of Leominster; twenty one grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.He was predeceased by his brothers, Edward, Alfred and Hernie Allain and his sisters, Loretta Passerello, Rose Marie Rivard and Florence Arsenault.ALLAIN -- His funeral will be held on Thursday, March 6, from the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 63 Sheridan St. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Wednesday, March 5, from 5 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis of Assisi Restoration Fund c/o St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 63 Sheridan St., Fitchburg, MA 01420.
