Obituary of Peter Waugh


WAUGH, Peter, CDIt is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our Scottish soldier.Peter was born in Loanhead, Scotland on October 31, 1933 and passed away on June 20, 2015 in Edmonton, Alberta. Peter served in the RAF from 1951 until 1957 whereupon he immigrated to Canada. He joined the RCAF upon his arrival in Canada and served as a firefighter and a drummer in the RCAF pipe band until November 1973. Peter was proud to have been part of the rescue crew on the testing of the AVRO Arrow and the instructor of the highland dancers for the 1967 TATTOO.Peter is survived by his wife, Mary and his three sons, Ian, Sandy (Karen) and Andrew (Selena); his grandchildren, Angelina and Marco; his brothers, Ted and George; sister, Betty, all of Scotland; brother-in- law, David Butler of Windsor, ON; and many nieces and nephews in Scotland and the USA. He is also survived by his extended family, the Porters of Devon, AB; Tracy, Brad and Jocelyn Eleniak; and Selena''s family, the Paniccia''s and Carducci''s of Edmonton, AB: Pietreina Carducci, Sara and Jim Carducci and their family of Edmonton AB; Angela Paniccia, Danny Paniccia, Melissa Paniccia, Jason Paniccia (Peggy Karas) and Rose and Hank Karas; as well as friends, Pat and Gordon Carson and their family.A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Dayspring Presbyterian Church, 11445 – 40 Avenue, Edmonton.
