Obituary of Paul-R.Raymond

WESTFIELD - Paul R. Raymond, 60, of Westfield, died Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at home. He was born in Holyoke on August 29, 1945 to the late Leonard and Dorothy (Marcoullier) Raymond and has been a lifelong resident of Westfield. He was a 1963 graduate of St. Mary's High School. He received his B.A. Degree in English from Westfield State College in 1967, a Masters of Education Degree from Springfield College in 1976 and received a certificate of Computer Studies at St. John's School of Business in 1983. Paul received his C.A.G.S. from Westfield State College in Public School Administration in 1989. He taught English at Enrico Fermi High School, he was a Vice Principal at Franklin County Tech High School and also a V.P. at Pioneer Valley Regional High School. Paul was a V.P. at South Hadley High School for 16 years retiring in 2004. He was an Adjunct Faculty Teacher at Westfield State College in the Graduate Education Program for 13 years. He was a member of the Army National Guard, 187th Infantry Brigade in Springfield, MA for 19 years. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church. Paul leaves his wife of 17 years Jane E (Hahn) Raymond, three stepsons Neal T. Gibson of Huntington, Timothy J. and Shaun D. Gibson both of Westfield, one brother David Raymond of Paradise, CA and four grandchildren. The funeral for Paul will be Monday at 8:30 a.m. from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service 76 Broad Street, Westfield followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church, 335 Elm Street, Westfield. Burial will follow in Massachusetts Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-6 p.m. Donations in memory of Paul may be made to the Shea Scholarship Fund c/o K. Dion at South Hadley High School, 333 Newton Street, South Hadley, MA 01075.
