Paul David Rafuse February 05, 1938 - March 22, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home * RAFUSE……Paul David, age 67, of Upper Vaughan, Hants County, passed away on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2005, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, after a short battle with cancer. Born on February 5th, 1938, in Upper Vaughan, Hants County, Nova Scotia, he was a son of Olive (Rafuse) Rafuse, Upper Vaughan and the late Clark David Rafuse. Living so close to nature all his life, he valued the time he spent hunting and fishing at his favourite spot “Little Lakes” and the “Barrens”. His love for animals, had him attending nearly every exhibition, throughout Nova Scotia and on occasion, you could even find him teaming his own pair of oxen in the ring. Paul was a retired member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, local 83, Halifax. Creating things with his hands and the builder of some great stories, he always enjoyed laughing with those around him. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, the former Evelyn Faulkner; daughter, Prudi (Jack) Zinck, Upper Vaughan; son, Roger (Tanya) Rafuse, Kentville; granddaughters, Autumn and Lily; mother-in-law, Gertie Rafuse, Upper Vaughan; sisters, Betty Chandler, Upper Vaughan; Barb (John) Leckie, Arnprior, Ontario; Pearl (Dennis) Mosher, Upper Vaughan; Phyllis Rafuse, Dayspring; brothers, Lloyd (Sandy) Rafuse, Upper Vaughan; Owen (Shirley) Rafuse, Falmouth; Gary (Heather) Rafuse, Upper Vaughan; Frank (Hilda) Rafuse, Cheverie; Michael (Pam) Rafuse, Upper Vaughan; maternal aunt, Lena Rafuse, Windsor; paternal aunt, Ruby Foreman, Surrey, B.C.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Clark Edward “Junior” Rafuse; father-in-law, Marcus Rafuse; grandson, Jack St.Clair Zinck. Cremation has taken place. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Friday, March 25th, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Funeral service will be held, 2 p.m. Saturday, March 26th, 2005, in the Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. David Shaw and Rev. Terry Coldwell officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Paul, may be made to the Upper Vaughan Baptist Church or Palliative Care, Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.
