Obituary of Mary Macpherson

OBITUARY MARY PARSONS (nee MacPHERSON) December 1, 1915 - November 3, 2008 Mary passed away in the caring hands of the staff at St-Mary's Hospital, Montreal. Mary was born and raised in Port Daniel, Quebec. Mary was part of a large and caring Scottish Family. After graduating from MacDonald College teachers college, Mary started her career in Ormstown. From there she moved to Hudson, Quebec where she was one of the original members of the Teachers Cottage. It was in Hudson that she met her husband Hugh and raised her two sons John and Chip. Mary taught at Mount Pleasant Elementary School and teaching was her passion. Mary took great pride in her students and was a well respected teacher by both students and colleagues. A visit from a former student would lift her spirits and her recollections of that student's deeds and misdeeds would be accurate. Mary is predeceased by her son John and her husband Hugh, as well as by all her brothers and sisters. Mum will be missed by many, including her grandchildren Christian, Lillian and Adam, and her daughter-in-law Christina and her son Chip. We are all grateful to the community of Hudson for all its support. Judy Tellier of Hudson Nova, Dr. Len Welik - a very special physician, Melinda and the staff of St-Mary's Hospital including Drs. Stephenson and Stewart. The service will be held at St-James Church in Hudson on November 15, 2008 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Nova Hudson or the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Regional Palliative Care Center (A project close to the hearts of the Parsons' Family).
