LEOMINSTER -- Mary A. (Waldron) Gagne, 89, of 34 Fairmount St., died Friday, Aug. 5, in HealthAlliance Hospital/Leominster, after an illness. She was born on July 26, 1916, in Lowell. Mrs. Gagne was a manager for Smith Rest Home in Worcester before owning and operating the former Beverly Rest Home in Worcester. Following that, Mrs. Gagne owned and operated the former Fairmount Rest Home in Leominster for many years. She was also a foster mother, caring for many children over many years. She loved music and dancing. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, and crafts. She was a proud woman and always dressed to a tee. She belonged to the Prayer Group at St. Anthony di Padua Church for several years.Mrs. Gagne leaves her daughter, Phyllis M. Gagne of Leominster; her former husband, Louis J. Gagne of Leominster; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and one great- greatnephew. She was predeceased by her sister, Bridget Comeau Putnam, who died in 1985.GAGNE -- On Aug. 5, Mary A. (Waldron) Gagne, 89, of Leominster. The funeral will be held Tuesday, Aug. 9, from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony di Padua Church, 84 Salem St., Fitchburg. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster. A calling hour will precede the Mass on Tuesday, Aug. 9, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m in the funeral home.
