Obituary of Marie L. Mainville


Marie L. Mainville 1926 - 2012 CHICOPEE - Marie L. (Letendre) Mainville, 86, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. She passed into Eternal Life from Wingate at West Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born at home in Chicopee on March 11, 1926, a beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Delvina (Desrosiers) Letendre. She lived in the city for many years before moving to South Hadley where she resided for 24 years before returning to the Aldenville section of the city in 1989. She previously worked at the former F. W. Sickles Company and had last been employed as an inspector at Renwell Electronics, both in Chicopee. Marie was a wonderful homemaker to her family and during her leisure time enjoyed playing bingo with her many friends. She adored her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was a member of the Aldenville Senior Center and a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her 12 siblings and her baby son, Paul Mainville, who was Called Home in 1960. She leaves her loving husband and best friend, Raymond G. Mainville. They were married on May 8, 1948 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 63 years of happiness together. Besides her husband, she leaves: her loving sons, Michael P. Mainville and John Abreu, both of Chicopee; her four cherished grandchildren; her four cherished great-grandchildren; and her many dear nephews and nieces. Her funeral will be held on Friday morning, March 16, 2012, beginning at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (funeral home will open at 10:45 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home in the Rose Chapel on Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Because of the exceptional care that Marie received, her family has requested that memorial donations be made in her memory to Wingate at West Springfield Activity Fund, 42 Prospect Avenue, West Springfield, MA 01089.
