Obituary of Marie Allain McGee


LEOMINSTER -- Marie (Gaudet) Allain McGee, 92, of 370 West St., died early Saturday morning, April 10, at Fairlawn Nursing home after an illness. Born in Fitchburg on Aug. 15, 1911, she is the daughter of the late Didier and Agnes (Cormier) Gaudet. She attended Hairdressing and Electrolysis School in Worcester and in New York. McGee owned and operated Marie’s Salon of Beauty on Mechanic Street in Leominster for more than 20 years. She also operated an electrolysis booth within Doris O’Grady’s Hair Salon in downtown Leominster. She is survived by her two sons, Leon Allain and his wife Diana of Leominster, and Richard Allain and his wife Margorie of Brewster; four grandchildren, Philip Allain of Wellfleet, Gary Allain and his wife Susan of Mendon, Elizabeth Saunders and her husband William of Rhode Island, and Monique Minutolo and her husband Michael of Newburg, N.Y.; four great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law. She was predeceased by her first husband, Ernest Allain, and her second husband, Joseph McGee. Two brothers, William and Henry Gaudet, both of Leominster, and one sister, Rita Hyland, of Attleboro, predeceased her. McGEE -- On April 10, Marie (Gaudet) Allain McGee, 92, of Leominster. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 13, at M.A. Simard & Son Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster. A mass will be said at noon in St. Leo’s Church, 128 Main St., Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, April 12, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
