Obituary of Lucien-Joseph Raymond

RAYMOND, Lucien Joseph - (1930-2009) - It is with great sorrow to announce the peaceful death of Lucien “Lou“ on Tuesday September 22, 2009 at the age of 78 years. Beloved husband and best friend of 55 years to Berthe Raymond (Turgeon). Loving father to Suzanne (husband Michael Armstrong) and Denis (wife Estelle). Will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Jerry (wife Josée Ouellette) Armstrong, Joseph and André Raymond and great grandchildren Cortney, Alexis and Tanner Armstrong. Son of Joseph and Alice (Dubeau) Raymond both predeceased. Dearest brother to Marie Anne (Paul predeceased) Huneault, Lucienne (Aurèle) Bergeron, Rémi (Thérèse) Raymond, Marie- Berthe (Linus predeceased) McNamara, Hélène (Conrad) Tétreault, Raymond (Nicole) Raymond Bernard (Lauria) Raymond, Marthe (Glen) Carmichael. Predeceased by his two brothers Georges (Aldina predeceased), Jean (Thérèse predeceased) and by one sister Lorette Raymond. Mon oncle Lucien (uncle Lou) will be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews and by his friends. Lucien worked for more than 30 years with the Ministry of Transportation as the assistant to the District Engineer. Lucien was Councillor of the Town of Nickel Centre for 12 years. Lucien was greatly involved with the Coniston and Warren Lion's Club for many years. He enjoyed volunteering and worked hard for the Lion's Club Children's Telethon for many years. Children played a big part of his life especially when he coached a little league of T-ball in Wahnapitae. We would like to give thanks to the staff of the 3rd floor at Falconbridge Extendicare for all the care given to Lucien (Lou) as known by the nurses. The family will receive relatives and friends at the CO-OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle E. (at Notre-Dame) Sudbury, Friday, September 25, 2009 from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in Notre-Dame-de-la- Merci Church, Coniston. Donations (by cheque only) to the Coniston Lion's Club would be greatly appreciated.
