Obituary of Lois-Gertrude Mark


Peacefully in her 92nd year, at the Ottawa General Hospital, on Tuesday, June 3, 2003. Predeceased by her husband William. Lois was born in Toronto in 1911. She graduated from Branksome Hall and was well known nationally for her artistic rug making and teaching of fine hand crafts in the Ottawa area. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her children Marilyn (Dave Sorrill), John (Cathy), Mark, and Carol (Gordon Kennedy); her grandchildren David (Catherine), Jennifer (Tom Kasouf) and Peter Smith, Deborah (Patrick Craig), Susan Gardiner, Jennifer and Bryan Mark (Yoko), Geordie and James Kennedy; her great-grandchildren Kaitlin and Natalie Smith, Justin, Sarah and Keanne Gardiner, Connor and Aidan Craig, Jakob Kasouf, Yuki, Nami and Skye Mark; her sister Helen Adams and John Walker of Toronto. A service will be held at Pinecrest Cemetery on Saturday, June 7, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. The family wishes to thank the caring and compassionate staff, especially Nancy, Sylvie and Donna of the 6th floor of the General Hospital. In memory of Lois, a donation to the C.N.I.B., or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
