CHICOPEE - Leona E. (Allain) Choquette, 89, a former longtime resident of Chicopee, died early Wednesday evening at Redstone Nursing Center in East Longmeadow. She was born in Chicopee, the daughter of the late Henry and Marie (Beauchemin) Allain, and was a graduate of Mount Carmel Parochial School System, Springfield. Mrs. Choquette was employed for 30 years at the former Bosach Cleaners of Holyoke, from which she retired in 1996. Leona was the wife of the late Mederic Choquette, and leaves one daughter, Carol A. Daniele and her husband, James of Wilbraham, one sister, Jeannette Tessier of Chicopee, two grandchildren, Christopher Daniele of Burlington, VT, and Heather LaPointe and her husband, Jeremy of Wilbraham, as well as several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She was the sister of the late Paul and Henry Allain. Her funeral will be held Saturday morning at 8:30 am from Sampson's Chapel of the Acres, 21 Tinkham Rd., Springfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Cecilia's Church, Wilbraham, with Rites of Committal to follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley. Calling hours at the Chapel of the Acres will be Friday evening from 4-7 pm, and contributions in her memory may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association of WMASS Region, 1600 E.
