Kathy will be remembered for her whimsical good nature, her love of life and its simple pleasures, and for her devotion to her family, never missing a sporting event or special occasion. Kathy believed wealth was not found in a bank account, but around her kitchen table. Kathy enjoyed great books, and great conversation and was surrounded throughout her life by great friends. Her heart was always open to inspiration from everyday events and she loved curling up with a great novel on the beach. Retired five years ago, Kathy taught English at Holliston High School for over thirty years. During her career, she was recognized by the students of Holliston High School as Teacher of the Year, Coolest Teacher and by CBS and Boston University for her innovative use of television in the classroom. Kathy inspired her students to appreciate great works including those of William Shakespeare, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway. Additionally, she spent thousands of hours mentoring and counseling students through the college application process. Kathy, originally from Franklin, was the daughter of the late Charles E. Burke and the late Helen (McCusker) Burke. She graduated from Franklin High school in 1966. She was a graduate of Fitchburg State College in 1970 and received her Masters degree in Education with a concentration in English from Framingham State College. Kathy is survived by her husband of thirty-seven years, Richard E. Webster; her daughter: Atty. Meredith Webster and her husband David Fauvre and their son, Jason Burke Fauvre of Washington DC; her son: John Webster and his wife Amy Webster of Mansfield MA (expecting Kathys second grandchild in October); also her brother: Peter Burke of Sandwich MA. Kathy was the sister of the late Sheila Burke. Her funeral will be held Tuesday (July 14th) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA (www.edwardsmemorialfuneralhome.com) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Marys Church, 1 Church Square, Franklin MA. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will follow. Visiting hours will be Monday evening (July 13th) from 5pm to 8pm.
