Josephine M. (Santisi) Galvin, of Quincy, formerly of Jamaica Plain, passed away Oct. 11, 2012. Josephine grew up in the Jamaica Plain section of Boston and has been a resident of Quincy for over 50 years. In her earlier years Mrs. Galvin worked at the MA State Lottery. She was a longtime member of Furnace Brook Golf Club in Quincy. She also was a member of the St. Marys Senior group. Josephine was a talented artist and poet and authored a childrens book titled, Joey. She will be missed as a compassionate and loving lady whose family was the central focus of her life. Beloved wife of James M. Galvin of Quincy. Loving mother of Geraldine Barnes of NY, Jeanmarie Turley of Quincy, and James M. Jay Galvin, Jr. of Weymouth, and a niece Barbara Bogue of Pembroke. Sister of Ray Santisi of Boston. She was pre-deceased by four sisters and two brothers. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and many special nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 p.m. in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Quincy at 10 a.m. Burial will be private. Donations in memory of Josephine may be made to Hospice of the South Shore, 30 Reservoir Park Dr., Rockland, MA 02370.
