Obituary of John R. Jennings


John R. Jennings HYANNIS John R. Jennings, 91, of Hyannis, formerly of Natick and Hopkinton, passed away peacefully on Nov. 22, 2009, at the Pavilion Nursing Care Center in Hyannis. He was the beloved husband of Helen (Middleton) Jennings with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. Born in South Natick, Mr. Jennings was raised and educated there graduating from Natick High School and Norfolk County Agricultural School. During World War II he served in the United States Army. He was employed as a welder prior to retirement. Mr. Jennings was a member of the John Warren Lodge of Masons in Hopkinton. An avid apiarist (beekeeper), he kept many hives and was a member of the Worcester County Beekeepers Association. A knowledgeable gardener he had a deep awe and respect for all the living things in this world. In addition to his wife, Mr. Jennings is survived by his son David Jennings of Hyannis. He was predeceased by 2 sisters, Nancy and Barbara and 2 brothers, Joseph and Robert. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a graveside service in the Glenwood Cemetery, 25 Glenwood St. South Natick on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at 1 p.m. The Rev. Victoria Alford Guest of the First Congregational Church of Natick will officiate. In keeping with his love of animals, donations in Mr. Jenningss memory may be made to any local animal shelter.
