Obituary of John J. Waldron


John J. Waldron -->John J. Waldron (retired Lt. B.F.D.), passed away peacefully at John Adams HealthCare Center, Quincy, Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, his loving family by his side. Born in Boston 92 years ago, John grew up and was educated in the Mission Hill section of Boston and resided in Milton for over 35 years. He was a World War II Coast Guard veteran and a 32-year employee of the Boston Fire Department Local 718, retiring as a Fire Lieutenant in 1977. John also was a former member of the VFW Post 8699, Lower Mills. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary R. (Kennedy); devoted father of Mary A. Staudter of Ohio, Eileen F. Hanafin of Duxbury, Patricia M. Carmichael of Maine and John K. of New Hampshire, Thomas B. of Washington, Frances V. of South Boston and Michael G. Waldron of Texas; brother of James Waldron of Sharon and the late Thomas Waldron and Mary Goode; grandfather of 10 loving grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Hills Church, Milton, Monday morning at 10. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Sunday 2 to 6 p.m. Interment in Mt. Benedict Cemetery, Boston. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Danny Staudter Memorial Scholarship Fund, P.O.
