MATTHEWS, John Whitney RCAF 400 Squadron - Retired, RCMP Chief Forensic Scientist - Retired) Peacefully in hospital after a long, courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, February 6, 2000. Predeceased by his first wife June (nee Fitzpatrick). Will be sadly missed by wife Norma Matthews, children, Melody (Debbie), Lance, Terri (Eric Stephen), Christine (Bernie Corrigan), Joanne (Keith Power) and by 6 grandchildren. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd.) on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
