WELCH John J. of Quincy, formerly of South Boston, died July 2, 2009. Husband of the late Margaret McCarthy Welch and former husband of Marguerite Welch Connaughton of Squantum. Father of Timothy F. Welch and his wife Mary of Squantum. Grandfather of Margaret Welch McDonough of Squantum and the late Christine Welch Gillis. Great grandfather of Timothy McDonough of Squantum. Stepfather of Margaret Adams of Falmouth. Step grandfather of Tracy Adams Brown of Cape Canaveral, FL. A proud World War II Army veteran. John worked for more than 30 years as a machinist at Watertown Arsenal. Proud of his Irish heritage, John was born and raised and spend many years in South Boston before moving to Quincy. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Life Celebration Service in Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY, Tuesday at 9:15 A.M. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann's Church, Wollaston at 10:00 A.M. Visiting hours Monday 3:00 P.M. 7:00 P.M. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
