Obituary of John-Charles Macdonell

MACDONELL, John Charles We sadly announce the passing in Vernon, BC on February 10, 2009, of John Charles Macdonell, at the age of 77 years. Jack will be missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-seven years, Betty, and daughters Margo Macdonell of Calgary, Leslie Burroughs (Dennis) of Toronto, and Lynn Pinder (Blair) of Calgary. He is also survived by his grandsons Christopher (Christina) and Bradley Burroughs, and great-granddaughters Evelyn and Emma, a sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law, and their families. Jack was born in Calgary, and was a much respected educator for thirty-three years in Alberta. Jack was a teacher, a school administrator, and a District Superintendent of Schools. Following his retirement, Jack and Betty resided in the Shuswap area for fifteen years prior to moving to Vernon. Respecting Jack's wishes, there will be no public Service. In lieu of flowers, friends who so wish, may make a donation in his memory to the S.P.C.A., 4800 Haney Road, Vernon, BC V1H 1P6. Cremation was entrusted to VERNON FUNERAL HOME.
