Obituary of Jean Gloriant

of Fitchburg; 85 FITCHBURG -- Jean (Henreckson) Regan Gloriant, 85 died Monday Oct. 29th in the Golden Living Center, Fitchburg.Jean was born February 20, 1927 in Somerville daughter of Albert and Ada (Curphey) Henreckson. Jean grew up in Sharon, MA the eldest of 5 children in a musical family, where she played the accordion. She was a graduate of Lynn English High School class of 1945. She and her family moved to Fitchburg when her father was transferred to Fitchburg General Electric. Jean retired from the General Electric Co. after working there for 20 years. Jean had been a member of the VFW Drum and bugle Corp as their majorette, where she participated in area parades and moved on to perform in Cleveland and Miami where she won first place for strutting at the National Convention. Later she marched with the Florence Stove rangers Band in Gardner. She also marched with the Fitchburg Band and the American Legion Band at different times under the leadership of the late George Talcot. Jean belonged to the Fitchburg Senior Center Booster Club and is a former Civics Day Queen.Her first husband John T. Regan died in 1986 and her second and former husband George Gloriant died in 2005.She leaves 2 sisters; Anne (Ronald) DeVries of Riverview Fl. and Janice (Ronald) Fields of Fitchburg, a brother David (Elise) Henreckson of Bensenville, IL and a sister-in-law Barbara Henreckson of City Island, NY, widow of Albert R. Henreckson Jr., who died in 2002, many nieces and nephews and their families.GLORIANT -- A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Forest Hill Cemetery, Fitchburg. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pat Brody Shelter for cats, P.O. Box 142, Lunenburg, MA 01462. Aubuchon-Moorcroft Funeral Home Fitchburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
