Obituary of Janet-Elizabeth Hammond

HAWES, Janet Elizabeth 'Libby' - Libby Hawes, beloved wife of Gary Hawes of Meaford, passed away at the Meaford Long Term Care Centre on Thursday, January 15, 2009 in her 62nd year. Daughter of the late Murray and Janet (née Devereaux) Hammond of Clarksburg. Loving mother of Debbie Drake (Daryl) of Oakville, Susan and her husband Paul Belanger of Toronto, and David Drake, currently in the 'West'. Fondly remembered also by Gary's family: Kimberley, Alen, Michelle and Robert, and by her 18 grandchildren and 1 great- grandchild. Dear sister of Michael and his wife Bonnie Hammond of Thornbury, Margaret (late Dan) Kelly of Agincourt, David Hammond and his wife Karen of Clarksburg and Jim Hammond and his wife Sandra of Kitchener. Libby will be a sadly missed aunt of her several nieces, nephews and their families. Funeral and committal services, officiated by Reverend Dr. Robert Buchanan, will be conducted at the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 48 Boucher St. E., in Meaford, on Saturday, January 17 at 1:30 p.m. with cremation to follow. Interment of Libby's 'ashes' will be conducted at Thornbury-Clarksburg Union Cemetery in the spring.
