Obituary of James Durnin


DURNIN _ James Victor (Vic) 1926 - 2002 Vic passed away peacefully in his home on November 6, 2002 at the age of 76 years. Vic was a devoted father and will be dearly missed by his sons, Jim (Val) and Bill (Glory), of Calgary. Vic will also be missed by his life-long partner Thelma. Vic is survived by his brother Cecil of Winnipeg; his sister Jean of Whitehorse and his sister Elizabeth of Victoria. Vic was blessed with five grandchildren, Shane, Mikyla, Jamey, Kelly and Jessie, who will all miss their Grandfather. Vic was a career credit professional and MCI Fellow. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing, as well as using his aptitude for fixing things. Vic could always be found supporting his two boys as they were growing up, at all their sporting events. He is now resting in God's hands. A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Moravian Church, southeast corner of Southland and Acadia Drive S.E., on Friday, November 15, 2002 at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made in Vic's memory to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 - 29 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta, T2N 4N2.
