Obituary of James-Stewart McFarlane


Loving husband of Ada and beloved father of John and Alisa, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2001 at age 80, in Santa Clara, California. Jim was a native of Glasgow, Scotland. He was a decorated soldier in the British Army in North Africa, Italy and Germany. After the war he became a civil engineer and in 1946 married Ada Archibald. Immigrating to Canada in 1952, Jim joined Central Mortgage and Housing Corporation. He worked in various cities across Canada including Winnipeg, Victoria and Ottawa. In the mid 1960s he joined Consolidated Building Corporation in Toronto and was very active in the Toronto Homebuilder's Association. In 1979, Jim and Ada moved to Scottsdale Arizona where he was a builder for a small developer. Jim and Ada enjoyed the Phoenix area and settled happily into Scottsdale. Jim is survived by his son John of Saratoga, California, and his daughter Ailsa Siks (nee McFarlane) of Unionville, Ontario. He will be missed by many family and friends around the world.
