MATTHEWS, James. At the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, July 23, 1998 James C. Matthews of Gondola Point, formerly of Montreal. Husband of Sarah (McCloy) Matthews. Born in Scotland, son of the late John and Rabina (Allison) Matthews. He was a veteran of the second World War, having served in the British Army. He was a retired employee of Dominion Bridge of Montreal. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Ville LaSalle, Quebec. Surviving in addition to his wife Sarah, his one son, John and his wife Sharon Matthews of Gondola Point, two grandchildren Daniel and Lindsay, two brothers John of Scotland and William of Montreal, four sisters Cathy Reves, Janet Internoscla, Barbara McCulloch and Betty Easdon all of Montreal. Predeceased by two brothers Tommy and Stan. The family will receive visitors at "Kings Chapel" Funeral Home, Monday from 1 to 2 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. Interment will be at the Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to either the N.B. Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetic Association. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of "Kings Chapel" Funeral Home 849-1702, 154 Old Hampton Road, Rothesay.
