James F. McDonnell -->James F. McDonnell, age 79, entered into eternal life on Oct.13, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. Jim was a lifelong Braintree resident. Mr. McDonnell was employed at the former Armstrong Cork in Braintree for 35 years. He also had a window cleaning business. Jim was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. McDonnell has been an active member of the Community over the years, belonging to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Braintree Post 1702, Braintree Jaycees, Call Fireman, - Braintree Fire Department, Watson School PTA, Boy Scout Troop 11, Calico Squares Square Dance Club, and the Couples Bowling League at OLindys Lanes. Jim and his family spent 47 wonderful summers at the Keoka Beach Camping Area in South Waterford, Maine. He was affectionately known as Santa to many generations of children in the South Shore area. James was predeceased by his devoted wife of 40 years Helen Francis (MacDonald); his parents John J. and Margaret (Treacy), his infant son Robert and his brother, Former Braintree Deputy Fire Chief John L. McDonnell . James was a devoted father to Virginia M. McDonnell of Braintree, Brian and his wife Grace of Paul Smiths, N.Y., US Army Major (RET) Mark and his wife Marianne of Swansea, Kenneth and his wife Irene of New Port Ritchie, Fl, Sandra Fuller and her husband Fred of Hanson and Dennis and his wife Laura of Plaistow, N.H.. He is the beloved brother of Margaret Carey of Stratford, CT. Brother-in-law of Theresa McDonnell. James was the caring grandfather of Jennifer, Megan, Ryanne, Robert, Perry, Charlotte, Garrett, Casey, James D., Christina, Nathan, James F, Katie, Amelia, Royal, Evan, and great grandfather of Johnathan. He will be missed by his large family of nieces and nephews, step children and friends who looked up to him . Funeral was from the Clancy-Lucid Funeral home, 100 Washington St. Weymouth Landing on Saturday, Oct. 16 at 8:45 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint Clares Church, Braintree, at 10 a.m. Visiting hours were on Friday from 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. Interment in Braintree Cemetery.
