Obituary of J. Emile Allain


J. Émile Allain 1921-2015 At the Tracadie-Sheila Hospital, on May 10th and at the age of 93, Joseph Emile Allain, passed away. He was the son of the late David Allain and the late Alice Cyr. Born on June 19, 1921, he was living in Néguac. His wife, Blanche MacIntosh, passed away on Januray 31, 2015. He will be dearly missed by his two daughters, Alice (William Morton) of Fredericton, Joanne (Steven Coates) ofRothesay and his son Eric (Denise) of Moncton. He is also survived by five grand children : Sylvie (Jeff Mott), Christine, Marc, David and Michael as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Father Georges and Edgar, seven sisters, Édith, Marguerite, Éva, Yvonne, Sister Albertine, Augustine, Gilberte and two half- sisters, Sister Amanda and Sister Alice. He attended Collège du Sacré-Cœur in Bathurst and the Académie Sainte-Famille in Tracadie obtaining a commercial diploma. He also attended and graduated from the Maritime Forest Ranger School in Fredericton in 1950. He worked as a postmaster, a teacher and forest technician. He worked at the Consolidated Bathurst pulp mill and later for J.D.Irving Ltd until his retirement. A World War II RCAF veteran, he was a very active member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Neguac. He was also a member of the Neguac Board of Trade and the regional school board. He loved walking in the woods, reading and keeping abreast of the news. A man of deep faith, he was loved for his kindness and generosity. Family was his priority. He spent the last years of his life at his home in Neguac with the loving care of his relatives and a network of people from the village. Resting at Robichaud Home & Son, 50, Otho Street in Néguac with visitation on Tuesday, May 12th, 7 :00 pm to 9 : 00 pm and Wednesday, May 13th, 9 :30 am to 10 :30 am followed by a mass in Saint-Bernard Church, Néguac on Wednesday at 11am. For those who wish, remembrances to the Saint-Bernard Church of Néguac or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
