Obituary of Heidi Cassidy Galvin

Heidi Cassidy Galvin, age 45, of Herndon, Va. died on Sept. 11, 2010, at Reston Hospital Center. She was born on Oct. 1, 1964, in Lynn. After graduating from Salem State College she taught school for the New York City School system, until joining the Peace Corp with her husband in 1990. She was currently working for S.M.S. Data products Group, McLean, Va., as a systems developer. She was a den mother for her sons Cub Scout Troop for seven years and was an avid oil painter. Heidi was the beloved wife of 20 years of John E. Galvin, loving and devoted mother of Fiona and Declan Galvin, daughter of Redmond Jerry Cassidy and Catherine G.S. Cassidy, both of Swampscott, sister of Catherine Debbie Cassidy of Salem, Margaret White of Wilmington, and Wendy Cassidy of Swampscott. The family received friends on Monday, Sept. 13, and Tuesday, Sept. 14, from 6-8 p.m., at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden St., Herndon, Va. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, Sept. 15, at 11 a.m., at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, 46833 Harry Byrd Highway, Sterling, Va. Internment was private.
