Obituary of Gertrude Allain

Gertrude Melanson August 16, 1919 - May 21, 2015 Gertrude Melanson passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital on Thursday, May 21, 2015. Born in Moncton, daughter of the late Ernest and Elizabeth (LeBlanc) Allain. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 73 years Arthur Melanson, one son, Roger (Sylvia) of Moncton, one daughter, Florence (Donald) Landry of Moncton, daughter-in-law Thérèse, seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren as well as three step grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Germaine (Gérard) Després and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Gertrude was predeceased by one son Ronald, two brothers Aurèle Allain and Emery Allain, three sisters; Doris Robichaud, Hermine Young and Rita Allain. Visitation will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Monday, May 25 from 1:00 pm - 1:50 pm followed by a funeral service in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home at 2:00 pm. A reception will be held in the Garden View Reception Room. Interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Remembrances in Gertrude's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association or the charity of the donor’s choice.
