Geralyn Mary (Phinney) Webster, 52, a longtime resident of Boxborough, MA, died Jan. 14, 2012 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Haverhill, MA she was the daughter of the late George and Helen (Henry) Phinney Jr. Geralyn grew up in Plaistow, NH, was a graduate of Timberlane Regional School Class of 1977, and earned a BA in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire in 1981. She was the beloved wife of John A. Webster and devoted mother to John, Kelsey, Matthew and Cameron, all of Boxborough. She is also survived by a brother, Dr. Donald G. Phinney, wife Gina, and their family of Jupiter, FL. Geralyn's first passion was first and foremost her children. Besides being a parent volunteer in each of her children's classroom, she was also proud of her work in the Boxboro PTF. As the PTF President, she pioneered the First successful Auction at Blanchard. She was also a member of the Garden Club and held the positions of Vice President and President. She also was a supporter of the Acton-Boxborough United Way and worked on several committees during her tenure there. Geralyn was a valuable member of the Junior League of Worcester. She held various committee and board positions including Treasurer, Community Vice President, President-Elect and Festival of Trees Chair. Geri was involved in Junior League of Worcester for over 20 years as an Active, then a Sustaining member. Geri had several passions other than her family and friends such as travel, golf, and biking. She loved to travel. Having visited Australia, New Zealand, Italy, London, Paris, the Caribbean, as well as many other exciting places. She was an avid golfer with memberships at Nashawtuc Country Club and Tatnuck Country Club. In the past decade Geri participated in two bike trips to Napa and Tuscany with a group called Womens Quest. Geri also participated in cancer walks over the years to help raise funds for cancer research and raise awareness. Geralyn was a great friend to many and will be missed. Visiting hours were Wednesday, January 18th from 4:00-8:00pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte. 111) Acton, MA. Funeral services were held Thursday, January 19th at 10:00am at Trinity Episcopal Church, 81 Elm Street, Concord, with Rev. Nicholas Morris-Kliment officiating. Interment followed in Holy Angels Cemetery, Plaistow, NH.
