LUNENBURG -- George A. Webster, 83, of 135 Highland St., died June 14 in HealthAlliance Hospital/Leominster. Mr. Webster was born on June 10, 1924, in Fitchburg, son of Herbert L. and Hazel (Parsons) Webster and had been a resident of Fitchburg until moving to Lunenburg in 1954. Mr. Webster retired from the NABISCO in 1984 where he had been a route salesman. After his retirement he had become a self-employed contractor. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and had been active with the church having served as the Sunday School Superintendent, on the Building Committee and active with the Boy Scout Troop. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps. during World War II in the Pacific. He leaves his wife of 56 years, Shirley (Denno) Webster; three daughters, Pamela Webster of Lunenburg, Nancy and her husband, Mark Maglio, of Pelham, N.H., and Julie Lang of Webster; a brother, Stuart Webster of Leominster; a sister, Louise Bee of Fitchburg; three grandchildren, Michael Leger, Jessica Lang and Kelly Maglio. George was predeceased by two brothers, Donald and Herbert Webster. WEBSTER -- A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 19, at 11 a.m. in the Aubuchon-Moorcroft Funeral Home, 132 Woodland St., Fitchburg. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Fitchburg. A calling hour will be held Tuesday morning from 10-11 a.m. in the funeral home.
