Obituary of Emma Grenier


DOVER — Emma Laprise, 100, formerly of Riverview Apts., died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at the Riverside Rest Home.She was born April 24, 1905, in Dover, the daughter of Ubald and Mary (Dion) Grenier and had lived in Dover most of her life, and for a time lived in Hatfield, Mass.She was a longtime communicant of St. Charles Church.She was a very strong and faithful woman. She never complained even with the hardships she endured throughout her lifetime. Outliving most of her family, she remained strong and relied on her faith to see her through life. She was an avid reader and card player.She was predeceased by her husband, Amede "Jack" Laprise in 1961; and her three sons, Robert Laprise, Russell Laprise, and Paul Laprise.She is survived by her granddaughter, Lori Laprise of Higganum, Conn.; nieces and nephews Daniel and Dora Flynn, Richard and Jean Flynn, D. Jeanne and Samuel David, Richard and Janet Blais, Estelle and Charles Lewis, Paulette and Richard Sirois, all of Dover, Gerald Blais of California and Paul and Patricia Blais of Maine, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.There are no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 at St. Charles Church, 577 Central Ave., with the Rev. Paul Gregoire, pastor, as celebrant. Friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in the family lot in St. Charles Cemetery.Arrangements are by the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover.Go to www.taskerfh.com for more information or to sign the online guest book.
