Obituary of Edward A. Bonner


BRAINTREE Edward A. Bonner, 92, of Braintree, passed away October 9, 2009 at Hancock Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Quincy. He was born in Quincy, October 3, 1917 son of the late George and Mary (Fiorucci) Bonner. He was a retired employee of the Sante Fe Railroad and Bank of American in California. He was a W.W.II Veteran having served with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1938 to 1945. He was a Technical Sergeant. A Braintree resident for the past four years he had formerly lived in Pearl Beach and Fremont, CA. In his earlier years he was signed by the Boston Braves and played with Babe Ruth. He was the husband of the late Toby (Jasulek) Bonner. He is survived by his son The Reverend Michael J. Bonner married to Judith Bonner of Imperial Beach, CA: his stepson Ronald A. Scheer married to Henrietta Scheer of Broomfield, CO; a stepdaughter Joanne Amarel married to Gary Amarel of N. Las Vegas, NV. Edward is the uncle of William A. Bonner married to Patricia Bonner of Braintree. He is the grandfather of Michelle R. Valdez. He is also survived by his dear friend Olive Dovell of Braintree. A Graveside Service will be held at Mount Wollaston Cemetery, QUINCY on Wednesday, October 28th at 1:30 p.m. The Reverend Michael Bonner will officiate. Memorial donations may be sent to Dream Come True, c/o the Weymouth Lodge of Elks, 1197 Washington St., Weymouth, MA 02199. Arrangements by the Peck Funeral Home, BRAINTREE.
