Edouard Lefebvre, 79, of Concord died Friday, Feb. 19, 2010, at Emerson Hospital in Concord. He was the beloved husband of 49 years of Jeannette (Duhaime) Lefebvre. Born in Central Falls, R.I., Sept. 18, 1930, he was the son of the late George and Aline (Penelle) Lefebvre. He attended parochial schools in Central Falls and was a 1948 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Central Falls. He later attended Providence College and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 until 1955 during the Korean Conflict. He was employed for a short time by I.B.M in New Haven, Connecticut and in 1961 received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island. Mr. Lefebvre retired in 1994 after 33 years of employment as a mathematician for the U.S. Air Force Geophysics Laboratory at Hanscom Air Force Base. A Concord resident since 1967, he was a long time active parishioner at the former Our Lady Help of Christians Parish and more recently at Holy Family Parish, both in Concord, teaching C.C.D. classes for over 30 years and serving as a Eucharistic minister for over 25 years. He was also a volunteer for many years at Emerson Hospital in Concord. His interests were his loving family, and the many activities of his nine children and many grandchildren. In addition to his wife Jeannette, survivors include nine children, Marie-Elena Lefebvre of Stow, Karen Lanchester of Londonderry, New Hampshire, Michele McLean of Boxborough, Mark Lefebvre and his wife Karen of Westford, Kristin Lefebvre of Boxborough, Brian Lefebvre and his wife Cheri of Littleton, Kenneth Lefebvre and his wife Kris of Chelmsford, Faith Piotte and her husband Stephen of Stow and Melissa Sanders and her husband Brian of Maynard, 19 grandchildren, his siblings, Rita Malloy of Lincoln, RI, Lucille Pigeon of Warwick, R.I., Al Lefebvre of Wappinger Falls, N.Y., Claire Johnson of Pawtucket, R.I. He was also the brother of the late Therese Depot, Gertrude Vigeant, Lillian Arcisz and Gerard Lefebvre and is survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral was held Monday, Feb. 22, from the Dee Funeral Home, Concord followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Family Parish, Concord. Interment with military honors followed in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Concord. Concord's town flag flew at half-staff on Monday in recognition of Mr. Lefebvre's service to his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
