Obituary of Donald McFarlane

Mr. Donald McFarlane August 25, 1913 - October 31, 2008 - Donald Stewart McFarlane passed away at the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home surrounded by his family on Friday, October 31, 2008. Born in Sussex Corner, August 25th, 1913, he was the son of the late John L. and Lydia C. (Kilpatrick) McFarlane. In his early years, Don had been the Sussex Post Master. From there he went to Coast Construction and Modern Construction. He was a founding member along with George Franklin of the Century Construction Firm. Don was a member of the Business Men of Moncton, The Shriners, Masons, Lenox Lodge, Orange Lodge, a charter Member of Uplands Baptist Church and active as a Deacon, Treasurer and Choir Member. Don was also an auditor of the Auxiliary Books of The Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home. Don is survived by his daughter Donna Constantine (Clinton) of Petitcodiac, brother Lloyd of Sussex Corner, sister Louise Alward of Moncton , grandchildren David Constantine (Jean) of Dobson Corner, Vickie Morton (Greg) of Winnipeg MB, Dale Constantine, Dobson Corner; precious great grandchildren, Sydney, Reggie, and Jon as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Don was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Norma and infant great grandson Alex Morton. At Don’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service, a private family service will be held. Interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
