Obituary of David R. Allyn

David R. Allyn, 47, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Baystate Medical Center, with his loving family by his side. Born in Holyoke on May 22, 1967, son of Robert A. and Irene T. (Drobiak) Allyn, Jr., he lived in Chicopee since 1972. David was a graduate of Chicopee Comprehensive High School, Class of 1984, and later attended Westfield State College. A communicant of Ste. Rose de Lima Church, David worked for United Parcel Service (UPS) since 1987, starting as a nightshift supervisor and then as driver. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, driving his Harley, and listening to music. David shared his remarkable sense of humor with everyone, and his smile, joking and laughing will be missed by all. David is survived by his beloved parents, Robert and Irene Allyn, of Chicopee; his loving sister, Katherine J. Wilson and her husband Keith, of Los Angeles, CA; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services for David will be held Monday at 9:45AM from Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM in Ste. Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan St., Chicopee. Burial will follow in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery, South Hadley. Calling hours are Sunday from 4-7PM. kozikowskifuneralhome.com
