Obituary of Cecile L. Antaya


Cecile L. (Caron) Antaya 90, of Franklin, died Wednesday December 29, 2010 at the Franklin Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Alfred Antaya who died in 1996. Born in Montreal, Canada on May 22, 1920, the eldest of 3 sisters and 1 brother to the late Remi and Blanche (Arial) Caron, she had been a resident of Franklin since 1996. She received her education at the French Covent School in Canada and attended teacher training college where she attained a degree in History, Religion, and French which she taught until 1969. During the 1970s despite being a native French speaker, Cecile taught English in Montreal. Following a move to New England, she worked in the public records office at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She is survived by 2 daughters; Andree Brady and her husband Mike of California & Michele Bown and her husband Andrew of Cornwall, England. Also surviving is her grandson Jonathan Bown and her cousin and close friend June Roy of Franklin. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service Thursday January 6th, at 4 PM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, MA . Interment services will take place in England. A calling hour will be held from 3-4PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory sent to the Activities Dept. c/o Franklin Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation 130 Chestnut St. Franklin, MA 02038 would be appreciated.
