Lt. Col. (Ret'd), 1921-2003 On June 25th, 2003, after a lengthy decline in health, at the Perley-Rideau Veterans Health Centre (PRVHC). Survived by wife Sara (Sally), children Doug (Nancy) of Calgary, Alberta, Andrew of Victoria, B.C., Elise (Bill Pase) of Ottawa, Susan (John Kelly) of Maynard, Massachusetts (U.S.A.), four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, as well as brother Keith of Ottawa. Bruce enjoyed a distinguished career in the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) (1939-1972) and as a public servant with the Department of National Defence (1972-1986) with a specialty in radar telecommunications and defence intelligence. Highlights of his career post-World War II included assignments in Quebec City, Geneva, Washington DC, Paris, Clinton (Ontario) and Ottawa. The family is especially grateful to all the staff of the Gatineau and Rideau wings of the PRVHC for their devoted and compassionate care given to Bruce over the past eleven years. In lieu of flowers, donations to PRVHC Foundation, Head Injury Association (Ottawa Valley), or the charity of your choice would be much appreciated. A memorial gathering will be held in Ottawa at a later date.
