BEATRICE (BETTY) COOK Beatrice (Betty) Cook, 75, of Pinewood Court Nursing Home in Thunder Bay, Ont., passed away at her residence Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003. She was born Oct. 26, 1927 in Fort Frances, Ont. to the late Daniel and Madeline Mainville. In her younger years, Betty was a long-time resident of International Falls, Mn., where she spent her life with her children and grandchildren. Over the years, she worked at the Residential School on Couchiching First Nation. In 2000, Betty moved to Thunder Bay, where she had resided since. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Cook in 1977; one daughter, Diana Cook; and one granddaughter, Tammy Lyon. Betty is survived by her three daughters, Patricia (Thomas) Jurivee of Thunder Bay, Ont., Angela (Sandy) Fraser of B.C., and Debra (Bryan) McLain of Waynesboro, Mississippi; four sons, Dale Cook (Debbie) and Richard Cook (Kathy), all of Minneapolis, Mn., Dennis Cook (Sheryl) of Fort Frances, Ont., and John Cook (Christine) of Seattle, Washington; one adopted daughter, Melanie (Bill) Tilleman of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Adam Lyon, Deanna Fraser, Hannah Clauson-cook, Anthony Fisher, Aaron, Chad, Cory, and Cami Cook, Bryan and Tori Frank, Keely-Shaye and Cameron Douglas, and Harley and Levi McLain; and one due grandson, Ethan Patrick Cook. Betty is also survived by six brothers, Lou (Dee), Stewart, Roger, Ronnie, Danny (Myra), and Lester Mainville; three sisters, Blanche Crowe, Elaine (Allen) Singleton, and Marcie Mainville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 8, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church on Couchiching First Nation. Fr. Ed Merchant s.j. officiated, with interment in Forest Hill Cemetery in International Falls. Friends visited Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003 at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church from 6:30 until 9 p.m. Prayers were offered at 7 p.m., led by Deacon Elmer Mainville. Pallbearers were Adam Lyon, Mike Mainville, Blake Mainville, Timothy (Kip) Mainville, Stewart Harlan Mainville, and Derrick Mainville.
