Obituary of Barbara-Ann Welch


Bruyere, Barbara Ann (Welch) age 80, a resident of Ashland for 50 years, died Sunday, February 27, 2005 at the Bethany Healthcare Center in Framingham. She was the wife of the late Leonard D. Bruyere, who died in 1978. Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Robert T. and Barbara A. (Walsh) Welch. A graduate of Framingham High School with the Class of 1942, Mrs. Bruyere worked at the former Marconi's Restaurant for many years. She was also a secretary for the Town of Framingham's Water Department and at St. Tarcisius Elementary School in Framingham. She will be remembered most as a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. She is survived by her children, Mary Lou Signorelli of Ashland, Leonard D. Bruyere Jr. & his wife Ramona of New Gloucester, Maine, Barbara A. Gessler & husband Benedict of Florida, John R. Bruyere & wife Brenda of Northbridge, and Paul J. Bruyere & wife Laurie of South Easton; 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sr. Rita Welch C.S.J. of Brighton. She was the mother of the late Rita M. Bruyere and sister of the late Robert J. & Richard J. Welch, and Mary B. Cashman. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, March 3rd at 10:00am in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit at Bethany Healthcare Center, 97 Bethany Road, Framingham. Burial will follow in the family lot in Wildwood Cemetery, Ashland. Visiting hours are Wednesday, March 2nd from 2-4pm & 6-8pm at Boyle Brothers Funeral Home, 173 Union Avenue, Framingham. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the Bethany Healthcare Center, 97 Bethany Road, Framingham, MA. 01702.
