Obituary of Antoinette-Andree Jodoin

ANTOINETTE ANDREE RICHARD (nee JODOIN) After a brief illness our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Antoinette (Toni) Richard passed away peacefully on March 7, 2004. Her memory will be forever cherished by her son Robert (Christa); daughter Jeanne; grandchildren, Shawna, Daniel, Jillian, Melanie and Christopher. She is survived by four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Toni was predeceased by her husband Jean-Louis; her parents, John Wellington Frederick Jodoin and Antoinette de Montigney. She was the last surviving member of a family of 13. Toni's unique character, exceptional sense of humour and fun-loving free spirit endeared her to everyone who met her. Those who knew her could not help but love her for her generosity, incredible quick wit and a truly inspiring and tremendous love of life. Toni was born in Ste. Anne, MB and at an early age moved to St. Boniface a place that would forever remain dear to her. It was here that she later met and married Jean-Louis Richard. Too numerous to mention are the many wonderful long-term friendships that she cherished to the end. We would however be remiss in not thanking her friend of almost 75 years, Lea. Thanks Lea for the exceptional companionship (and all the "medical advice") that you provided to our mother especially over the last few years. The family would also like to thank the staff of the emergency room at the Victoria Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care during Mom's short stay. Prayers will be offered on Thursday, March 11 at 8:00 p.m. at P. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 156 Marion St. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 12 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Hwy. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will follow and a private family interment will take place at a later date.
