Obituary of Ann-Marie Cavanagh


CAVANAGH, Ann Anchorage resident Ann Marie Cavanagh, 64, died suddenly, December 17, 2008 in Anchorage, Alaska. Ann was born November 27, 1944 in Brockville, Ontario. She graduated from nursing school in 1966 and went to Alaska in 1968. Ann worked for two years at the Native Hospital in Bethel before going to Anchorage and starting work at Providence Hospital on September 9, 1971. Her work experience included labor and delivering, newborn care unit and the quality improvement department. Predeceased by her parents Lenore "Nonie" Cavanagh (nee Quinn) and Joseph "Joe" P. Cavanagh. She is survived by her brother Joseph A. Cavanagh, his wife Eileen and their children Sean and Kelly; her longtime friend Pritch; and many dear friends. Visiting at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (at Albion Road) on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Patrick's Basilica. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Published in the Ottawa Citizen from 12/28/2008- 12/29/2008
