Winfield Richard Weatherby, 80, of West Bridgewater, formerly of Easton, died unexpectedly Monday at Brockton Hospital. He was the husband of Annabelle (Stoltz) Weatherby for 58 years. Born in Brockton on January 15, 1930, a son of the late Winfield and Hattie (Wade) Weatherby, he was raised and educated in Brockton. A veteran of the Korean Conflict he served as a Seabee in the US Navy. Upon discharge he began work in the construction industry and later became the owner of West Bridgewater Home Improvement Store. After, he became the proprietor of Weatherby Wicker World on Rt. 28 in West Bridgewater which he operated with his wife Annabelle. Upon living in Easton for many years he moved to West Bridgewater where he has resided for the past 31 years. An avid collector of classic cars, he was a member of the Wheels of Time and enjoyed driving the cars in parades. An original founder the Easton Junior Hockey League, and also coached Easton Little League for many years. He was a former member of the West Bridgewater Conservation Commission and was an avid Boston sports fan. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Richard Weatherby of Falmouth, Mark Weatherby of Stoughton and Cindy Teixeira of East Bridgewater; a sister, Muriel Travers of Brockton; a granddaughter, Shaunna; a great grandchild, Sophia; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 4 brothers and 1 sister. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington St., (Rte.138), Easton. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
