ANDREWS, VioletPassed peacefully away at her home, surrounded by family, Violet Mabel (Bubs) Andrews nee Janes, age 79. Predeceased by her parents Robert Orlando Janes and Marion Janes. Left with loving memories her husband Fred Andrews, longtime friend and sister-in-law Gertie Lou Andrews, sister-in- law Joan Basic of Surrey, BC, brother-in-law Lew Andrews (Denise), nieces Stephanie Sedore (Jason) Edmonton, Monika Sand (Wes) Osoyoos, BC, nephew Anthony Basic, Surrey, BC, cousins in Corner Brook, Kay Rowsell, Cath Piercey (Keith), Angela Janes (Bob), Jean Rowsell (Edinborough, Scotland), Lloyd Rowsell (Janet) Vancouver, and a circle of friends in Corner Brook, Halifax, Fredericton, Grand Falls, Edmonton, Calgary and St. John''s, all the places where she and Fred lived. Violet retired 21 years ago from a long career employed with Canada Employment and Immigration (formally UIC). There, she was noted for her compassionate way and welcoming smile. Special thank you to Dr. Patrick O''Shea and caregiver Brooks Fully for their loving care. As well as Dr. James Mayhew for his care over the years in Calgary. Rested at Carnell''s Funeral Home, St. John''s, NL, on Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. followed by a Commendation Service and reception. In lieu of flowers, which Bubs enjoyed in life, the family requests donations in her memory be made to the Alzheimer''s Society of Canada, or a charity of one''s choice.
